MTS Director
Email Ben
Ben at his heart would love people to know and follow Jesus. Married to Emma with four children, he relocated with his family from Melbourne to take the role - such is his passion for the MTS vision to raise up future gospel workers. One of seven children, Ben became a Christian aged 19 whilst studying engineering and has desired that his fellow Australians meet King Jesus ever since.
Ben believes MTS has a key role to play in evangelising Australia by partnering with churches to recruit and train people for ministry through the MTS strategy/movement. Ben got a ‘taste’ of ministry by doing an MTS apprenticeship over two years in 1992 before working as a Civil Engineer for three years. He studied theology at Moore Theological College in NSW (graduated 2000) before working in university ministry with AFES at RMIT University in Melbourne. While sharing the gospel with students and training 16 apprentices, Ben also took on coordination of the Victorian arm of MTS and pastored the evening congregation of Scots Church Melbourne. His own personal history with MTS and its proven track record makes leading the organisation a wonderful privilege for the new MTS Director.
When Ben’s not racing for the train and praying for his street, his neighbourhood and the nation - he enjoys time with his family, SAS novels and physical training…
Conference Director
Email Alison
Alison commenced working for MTS at the end of 2010 as their Conference Director. Her role involves organisation and co-ordination of all MTS events including the bi-annual training days, the apprentice graduation and the annual Spur Conference & MTS National Apprentice Conference. She moves to MTS from a role in administration and event management at her church in West Pymble and is excited about the new opportunities to use her gifts in serving God in an organisation that seeks to raise up the next generation of gospel workers.
Alison is passionate about ministry and since leaving school has spent much of her time leading youth bible studies, discipling young women and leading or cooking on holiday and youth camps. She is a member of the Lake Tabourie SUFM team in which she leads the teenage section and she absolutely loves spending her Christmas and New Year at the beach sharing the love of the Lord Jesus with these young guys and girls.
In her spare time, Alison loves relaxing and laughing with friends, drinking good coffee, whipping up tasty treats and reading real crime books.
Blue Collar Apprenticeships Coordinator
Email Andrew
Andrew’s passion is to see unreached people groups hear of the saving work of Jesus Christ. Since the age of 15 he thought this would take him overseas as a missionary. Over the last ten years God has been gradually opening his eyes to the need amongst the Australian working class. In Australia the Working Class are largely unrepresented in the mainstream Evangelical denominations although they are the largest subgroup in Australian society with around 70% of Australians not obtaining University qualifications. The aim of the Blue Collar Apprenticeship is to provide an alternative training pathway to part-time or full-time vocational ministry for those who do not have a University degree. It is Andrew’s prayer that the Blue Collar Apprenticeship will raise up many Christian leaders with a working class background who will be equipped to share the good news of Jesus with their family and friends, the many unreached working class of Australia.
Andrew did the MTS apprenticeship at Wollongong University with International Students in 2002 & 2003 before going to Moore Theological College. At the end of College Andrew married Emma and returned to the AFES team at Wollongong University to work with International Students again. He enjoys walking with his wife and two dogs, swimming at the beach, catching up with friends and talking to people about Jesus.

GPS Development Officer
Email Emma
Emma is married to Ben and has 4 children (Shaun, Isabella, Edmund and Samuel). She works 12 hours per week at MTS, looking after the Gospel Patrons Society – recruiting new patrons, processing donations, managing the MTS/GPS relationship, preparing reports for Patrons and organizing GPS functions.
Emma’s passion for MTS was borne out of a long-standing involvement in the MTS cycle, firstly by completing an apprenticeship 20 years ago at Melbourne Uni and since then training younger female apprentices. She believes that MTS provides a helpful building block for the longevity of ministers of the gospel. Currently, Emma attends St. Cuthbert’s Anglican Church, South Carlton and loves leading a women’s bible study there.
Emma loves walking (sometimes jogging!), reading, good coffee and watching TV series on DVD with her husband (eg: The West Wing, Parenthood, The Office!)
PA to Director
Email Martha
Martha joined MTS in September 2010 on a part-time basis after returning to the workforce. She is married to Nick and has four wonderful children, Niki, Pantelis, Dimitra and Costa.
Although originally working as a primary teacher, Martha took a break from work to be with her family full-time. The 10 year break from the workforce was a great time to refocus.
Martha grew up following the Greek Orthodox traditions, however as she began to read and understand God’s word in the bible, she came to realise God’s great love for her and committed her life to Him.
Martha attends Cross-Culture Bible Church at Arncliffe, where she is surrounded, encouraged and challenged by awesome Christians who have all come to know Christ from varied cultural backgrounds and religions. Martha loves using her teaching training to guide and encourage the kids at church as part of the Kids Ministry Team.
Through Gods grace, when Martha began looking for work, a position came up at MTS. Joining the team has been a real blessing for her and she hopes to be able to continue serving Christ at MTS as it grows, but more importantly in helping to raise men and women who glorify Him through the Great Commission (Matthew 28: 16-20).
Martha loves spending time with family and friends. She loves strolling along the beach spending quiet times reflecting. But, is often caught out by her family reading (or watching) Jane Austen novels again and again and again.
