LIKE SON
Fathers hugely shape and influence the manhood of their sons. The Gospel proclaims: 'Like Father, Like Son.' Jesus does His Father's work. Jesus speaks His Father's words. Jesus obeys His Father's will. Jesus loves His Father. Jesus glorifies His Father. Jesus shows us who God the Father is & how He deals with us - no more so than at the cross. A holy, righteous & just Father who refuses to compromise with sin. A loving, gracious & compassionate Father who gives up His own perfect Son to adopt rebellious runaways like us. God's goal for His sons is to live in us by His Spirit to make us like the Son - 'Like Father, Like Son'.
