"The harvest is plentiful, but the
workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out
workers into his harvest field."
Our Aim
Believing the proclamation of Jesus
Christ is of utmost importance, this weekend is designed to encourage
and stimulate men and women to consider vocational ministry as their
life-work. Hence our name - ministry matters.
Who Should Attend?
- Are you considering your suitability for ministry?
- Are you thinking about ministry alternatives
for the future?
- Are you wanting to talk with others making the
same decisions?
- Are you wanting encouragement about your place
in God's purposes?
- Are you wondering what ministry looks like 'on
the other side'?
Then this camp is for you! We aim to put forward
a biblical & true picture of ministry (not unrealistic), encourage you
to examine and assess your motives, character and gifts & be motivated
by gospel of Christ.
We do this recognising that vocational ministry
will not be the best way for everyone to serve & the Lord's desire for
more workers in the harvest field. Many have benefited from this camp
in the past. We hope God will do the same again!
What happens?
- Bible Teaching
Talks for the book of Revelation will challenge us from the bible
about how we can use our lives to serve Christ
- Ministry Discussions
A new feature at this year's Ministry Matters! Each person and couple
attending will be able to discuss their personal skills, gifts and
ministry plans with one of the pastoral staff attending. A great chance
to receive personal feedback, advice and encouragement from an older
Christian.
- Fellowship
Spending the weekend with like-minded people who are asking the same
questions and are at similar stafes in life is a huge benefit. Arguably
the biggest benefit of the weekend!
- Electives
Choose from Electives such as: -
- The Baptist, the Presbyterian and the Interdominational
Freak- Open slather! Ask this panel the hard questions about
ministry
- Mission in a closed country - What's
it like sharing the gospe in a land opposed to gospel preaching?
- Oh No... I'm married to a minister! -
The joys and tribulations of a ministry home
- Take the Timothy Ministry Test - God's
requirements of his servants
- Making Decisions about Ministry - the grey
areas - Practical wisdom about me, my personal style and making
decisions about suitability for ministry
