One of the most encouraging things about Christian fellowship is getting to know older Christians. Its awesome to meet, pray and talk with people, who have, by God’s grace, weathered the world and soldiered on in the Lord’s work.

This year MTS is launching a new ministry: Club 50 to encourage and equip over 50’s to reduce work or retire early in order to serve part-time in Christian ministry.

Purpose of Club 50

Club 50 has been established to mobilise men and women in the 'second half' of life, in the ministry of the gospel. We are encouraging and equipping those who are able to either retire early or reduce work committments in order to work part-time for their church or other ministries. The gifts and experience of our elders are needed to proclaim Christ to our world.

This stage of life presents a challenge. Do we work for our own advancement and comfort, or for Christ? Some have the financial freedom to divert part of their working week to Christian service. What a great way to 'retire'. We can rest in heaven.

Club 50 Conferences
A Club 50 Conference is conducted in parallel on the Saturday of each of the four 2002 Club 5 Sydney Conferences.

Who should be involved in Club 50?
If you are asking these kinds of questions, then Club 50 is for you.
• What are the goals for the rest of my life?
• What gifts do I have for Christian ministry?
• What load could I lift at my church?

• Should I reduce my paid work and work to take up voluntary ministry roles?
• Should I consider some ministry training?
• What ministry opportunities are available for 'seniors?'
