Why does Challenge CrossCoaching exist?

The vision of MTS is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to every person in Australia. It is reasonable to expect 1 person to share Christ with 9 family and friends so we’re committed to depending on God to win 10% of Australia to Christ. To enable that to happen we want to raise up raise up 10,000 full time Gospel workers and 100,000 keen church members. That’s a lot of people. So how do we raise them up? By training people to train people who train people. Please pray with us and train with us, for the sake of Christ’s Glory.

What is Challenge CrossCoaching?

CrossCoaching is designed to help you be more like Jesus . . . it is training in godliness.

CrossCoaching exists to train people up so that they make the most of their God given gifts, for the rest of their lives. CrossCoaching helps Christians to think through the question, “What will you do with the rest of your life?”. At CrossCoaching everyone is paired up with someone to grow them in godliness.

Who does the Challenge Coaching?

Coaches (former ministry apprentices) are paired up with Candidates (yet to embark on an apprenticeship) to help those Candidates grow in the three “C’s”:

·         To have Christ’s convictions

·         To have Christ like character

·         To grow in ministry skills . . . grow in competency

The Coach and the Candidate prepare a Ministry Development Plan together, a spiritual training program that well help you get Gospel fit. [Coaches are always same gender as Candidates].

What happens at a Challenge CrossCoaching session?

The following occurs at any given CrossCoaching day:

  • God Speaks – a passage of Scripture is preached with vigour, to grow us in Christ like character & conviction.
  • Ministry Skills Training – an expert in a particular ministry skill educates & inspires the group. (See Col Marshall’s, “Passing the Baton” (Matthias Media) page 108-110 to view 8 suggested training areas)

·         Time with the Coach - Candidates sit down and review how they’re tracking against their Ministry Development Plan . . .chat about the highs the lows and be encouraged by your Coach who spurs you on.

·         Fellowship of the King – enjoy partnership in the Gospel with other Christians who are keen to train and be trained. Swap ideas, pass on tips, share resources, brainstorm for the sake of the growth of God’s glory.
